Jake's first polo lesson

We finally made it back to polo tonight.   Now that Jake isn't afraid of horses anymore, he asked if he could also try a lesson.

Matt was happy to see Lisa again.

Jake was introduced to the new wooden horse.

While Jake was adjusting to the wooden horse, Matt took Lisa out for run.  He got her to canter a few times.

This horse was great because Jake could get used to the height and reach before getting on a horse that moved.  Mark is so good with them.

Mark's wife came back from a Target trip with more polo lesson balls (mini soccer balls). Jake gave them a test drive.

It was SO hot tonight.  Matt's helmet was soaked.

Jake got to spend a few minutes on the horse before we left.

He did very well for only riding a horse twice.

The hardest part is adjusting to holding the reigns with one hand.

I'm not kidding, it was a scorcher.  We'll go back in two weeks and hope for a chilly Fall evening.
