Laurel Highlands day

Like we usually do once or twice a year, we made the last minute decision to go the mountains for the day.  Now we finally have good dogs who can travel with us, so they made the drive and went to Nemacolin Wooflands daycare for the day.  They had a very nice time and were totally konked out the ride home.  Ole made friends with a 7 month old Great Dane girl.  I wish I had the camera with me at pick-up, but I left it in the car.

First stop for the humans was Laural Caverns.  We've been wanting to go for awhile, but this seemed to be the perfect age.  They loved it and had no problem keeping up with the group.  Many times they led the pack.  It's a strenuous tour.

For some reason the phone uploaded this photo sideways. Our second stop was lunch at Potters (no picture).  Our third stop was back up the mountain to the Nemacolin Adventure Center.  Matt got to do the ropes course and zip line (pics above).  Fourth stop was the Wildside, where they had a climbing wall and bowling.  Continuing his quest for adventure, Matt was excited to try the wall.  He did very well!   It's the highest he's ever gone.  The last time he tried a climbing wall, he went up about three grips and panicked.  Today he didn't panic until he was about 3/4 of the way up.

A pic from inside the caverns.

Jake bowling at the Wildside.

Another sideways shot of Matt's climb.  You can see he was pretty far up.

Playing some games for tickets.
